Five organisations, six Digital Employees, real economics in motion. Each customer below is operating a DE — or a small team of them — on the Northern Shield platform, with parallel-trained Governance AI overseers, immutable audit ledgers, and the same five-week build engagement. Together they cover energy infrastructure, private investment funds, healthcare diagnostics, and venture-stage performance management.
A modular renewable-energy developer deploying BioGrid™ facilities at scale — converting agricultural and woody biomass waste into electricity and premium activated carbon. BioEnergy is the lead application of the TNQ Digital Employee platform, with two DEs in active build covering the two operational disciplines that scale slowest under human-only management: commission administration across a long-tail project portfolio, and EPC project management across formal contractual stage gates.
Renewable-energy developer operating modular BioGrid™ facilities under the eXRGY™ thermal conversion platform. Public on OTC as CNER. Pipeline of 100+ projects in development, construction, and operation across U.S. and Canadian sites.
BioEnergy is what happens when one company runs 100+ parallel infrastructure projects, each at a different stage of a multi-year EPC lifecycle, with a commission structure that rewards multi-disciplinary participation across origination, development, and a ten-year offtake stream. No spreadsheet stays accurate under that load. No human team scales to it. Two Digital Employees do.
Owns the complete BioEnergy commission lifecycle across three parallel commission tracks, 100+ active projects, and a ten-year declining offtake stream with continuous reallocation across changing participants. Governed by the BioEnergy Sales Commission & Revenue Participation Policy v3.0.
Streams EPC milestones, COD events, and offtake revenue. Applies the policy version in effect at the time of each event. Calculates payouts across all three tracks, by participant, with full traceability.
When a participant exits or a new participant joins, applies the reallocation formula to redistribute the forward Track C share. Versions every participation matrix change. Cannot retroactively change a closed-period calculation without explicit human approval.
Every payout traces back to the source transactions, the participation matrix, the policy version, and the rule that produced the calculation. Disputes resolved in minutes by replaying the calculation from the immutable ledger.
Tracks and manages every BioEnergy facility through the formal EPC contractual stages — engineering, procurement, construction, mechanical completion, substantial completion, and final acceptance — with milestone-anchored evidence, risk surfacing, and continuous reconciliation against the EPC agreement. Designed to scale a single EPC PM across the entire 100+ project portfolio.
Reads contractor reports, drawings, inspection logs, equipment delivery records, and field signoffs. Maintains the live state of every facility against its EPC agreement's specific stage definitions.
Anticipates milestone-slippage risk from rate-of-progress signals — supplier delivery delays, weather, change orders, conditions-precedent open items. Drafts the risk note to the deal team before the slip happens, not after.
At Final Acceptance / COD, automatically triggers Track B final-payment calculation in DE-001, opens the Track C offtake-stream calculation period, and packages the financial-close evidence for the project finance team.
Across private investment funds, healthcare diagnostics, and venture-stage performance management — three more Digital Employees taking on roles that have specific compliance, regulatory, or methodological complexity that scales poorly under human-only operation.
Opala Energy Partners operates a series of private investment vehicles funding BioEnergy and related renewable-infrastructure projects under §48E ITC and §168(k) Bonus Depreciation structures. The fund's operating calendar is dense and unforgiving: K-1 issuance, quarterly capital-call notices, IRS filing dates, state tax filings, audit-cycle evidence preparation, LP communications on draw-down and distribution events, and ongoing compliance with tax-equity counterparty requirements.
DE-009 operates from a detailed compliance calendar document that defines every recurring filing, every investor communication, every deliverable, and every dependency — and runs that calendar continuously, drafting communications, preparing filings, and routing every external send through human approval. The DE does not file or send on its own — it is the operating substrate underneath the General Partner, not a replacement for the GP's signature.
Qanik DX is developing quantum biosensor technology for decentralized blood-lab testing and pathogen detection in saliva and on surfaces. The clinical data pipeline produces highly sensitive PHI alongside novel biosensor signal data, with chain-of-custody and regulatory traceability requirements that span HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and the specific regulatory regimes of each jurisdiction the technology is deployed in.
DE-010 will operate as the data-governance layer across the clinical pipeline — sample intake, signal classification, lab partner orchestration, chain-of-custody documentation, and regulatory submission evidence preparation. The DE will never make a clinical determination — it operates strictly on the chain-of-custody and evidence side, with all clinical decisions reserved for licensed professionals.
Human Velocity is a governance-intelligence SaaS platform for development- and growth-stage companies. It automates investor reporting, performance scoring under a Balanced Scorecard framework, and an algorithmic SAFE investment engine. Unlike the other DEs in this portfolio, DE-011 is not deployed inside the customer's organisation — it is deployed inside Human Velocity's product itself, providing the continuous score calculation that the platform's end users (founders, investors, board members) rely on.
The DE ingests the operating data each portfolio company submits, applies the platform's three-tier target architecture and AI planning modules, and continuously updates the Balanced Scorecard performance score. It is the engine of the Human Velocity SaaS — making this a reference case for embedding a governed Digital Employee inside a productised offering, not just inside an internal operations workflow.
Before TrueNorth Quantum extended Northern Shield to host governed AI agents, the platform had already spent years operating in the most demanding environments enterprise software runs in. The classes of organisation it has served are shown below — by sector, not by name.
Specific deployments are not listed because most engagements are subject to confidentiality. Customer references are available under NDA during a discovery conversation.
